The A14 class steam locomotive was a 4-4-0 locomotive of the Queensland Railways (QR).[1]
The locomotives operated on 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in) gauge. The “A”, is used to identify the number of coupled wheels, being four coupled wheels for the A14 class, followed by numerals indicating the cylinder diameter of fourteen inches.
Eight engines were built by the Phoenix Engine Company, Ipswich, Queensland between 1894 and 1895. All the engines were reboilered in 1909.
